Live Music & Performing Arts in Boulder

Between films, Boulder has a rich live-music scene — much of it walkable from downtown and campus. A few venues to know:

Fox Theatre (The Hill)

The Fox Theatre is an intimate club (~625 capacity) on University Hill next to CU, long celebrated for its acoustics and its role launching touring acts. Reopened as a music venue in 1992. Info.

Boulder Theater (downtown)

The restored Boulder Theater, an art-deco landmark near Pearl Street, hosts concerts, comedy, and film — and is on the 2027 Sundance venue list.

eTown Hall & Chautauqua

• eTown Hall — an eco-minded venue and community space that tapes the syndicated *eTown* radio show; also a festival venue.
• Chautauqua Auditorium — a historic all-wood, open-air hall from 1898 at the foot of the Flatirons (~1,300 seats); it hosts the summer Colorado Music Festival and, in 2027, Sundance screenings.
